2020 YEAR IN REVIEW ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Because of the virus and many of you not comfortable in attending church, you may not be aware of what has been happening at your church. In spite of the virus, your church moves forward!

While trying to maintain safe social distancing the church has continued, with your generous support, to make improvements and enhancements to the facility. Some of those have been the following:

• Phase II of the parking lot – one third of the parking lot was resurfaced
• New - Purchase of chairs for the social hall
• The donor plaque was updated
• The World War II plaque from the old church was mounted on marble and placed near the entrance to the church. Marble and labor donated.
• Landscaping around the church was completed
• New – Frescos in the Altar, donated
• New – Chairs in the Altar, donated
• New – Gazebo, outdoor Altar, donated
• New – Display case mounted for the Cross that was a gift from His Holiness Serbian Patriarch +PAVLE to the Church of the Holy Great Martyr St. Demetrius in Akron, OH
• Badnje Vece & Bozic – Joyfully we celebrated the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ while maintaining social distancing guidelines per the State of Ohio.Following vespers we all went outside for the Blessing of the Badnjak and our traditional Vruca Rakija!
• After many, many months of negotiating with the insurance company from the spring storm damage and waiting for a break in the weather, work has started on a complete new roof replacement on the entire building complex.

Even though 2020 has been a rough year, the church continues to work hard on repairs and improvements. Here are future items that will be worked on - Picnic pavilion/additional storage space, next phase of the parking lot, and building maintenance/improvements.
